In 2011 I hosted a Retro Red and Turquoise Wedding shower for a dear friend of mine
because….well DUH Turquoise makes the world go ’round!
And just goes to show that I’ve always had a little retro side……
The bride and groom’s wedding colors were black and turquoise but I’ve always secretly been in love with red and turquoise as a combination so this was my big chance!
I went to a store on Etsy called Green Apple Paperie http://www.etsy.com/shop/greenapplepaperie. and got EVERYTHING you see here from that store. The lady sent me locked PDF files for invitations, party favors….EVERYTHING! So take a look, and draw inspiration!
I made roses out of crepe paper party streamers and covered a Styrofoam heart with them. then added the banner. the tutorial for the crepe paper flowers can be found here: (or google crepe paper roses) http://www.tristinandcompany.com/2011/01/crepe-paper-rose-tree.html
Name badges for the bride and groom! Made from pinwheels of scrapbook paper and I glued pins onto the back of them.
I made a ton of these paper rosettes and hung them from the ceiling with fishing line!
For Mr. and Mrs. Martin!
The invitation was printed, glued to a red piece of cardstock which was then glued to an oval shaped doily (dollar store find), folded and sealed with a small red ribbon. These were then inserted into turquoise envelopes and mailed out to the guests!
This is a picture of the bride and groom to be in front of the gift table. I went to a website called http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ to create this darling block poster! The pinwheels on the table were the guest’s party favors!
Banner made from the party printables
And the finishing touches of the table before the food arrived!
Have a lovely Thursday!
